Hospice Care
Hospice care is provided to individuals who are facing a life-limiting illness. Hospice focuses on palliative, comfort care, and providing support to the families and caregivers. The commitment of hospice care is to make each and every day the best it can be for the patient, placing direct emphasis on quality of life and dignity.
Hospice utilizes a team approach to care, including hospice medical directors, nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains, bereavement counselors, and volunteers. This team collaborates with the facility staff, family, and patients to consider and attend to each family’s unique situation and specific needs. This includes regular visits by the team members to assess needs and provide appropriate services. These services may include pain management, counseling, prayer, bathing, medication management, equipment and supplies, and higher levels of care as indicated and approved by the hospice. Many times, if the patient meets certain criteria, arrangements can be made with our staff to provide personal space for additional comfort during this very heartfelt time.
Hospice care is a benefit covered in full by Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurances.
